Yaroslava Mahuchikh, a famous Ukrainian high jumper, returned to official tournaments after a short break. The 22-year-old from Dnipro won during the 11th stage of the Diamond League Athletics held in Lausanne with a result of 1.99 m.

She missed the first three heights (1.79, 1.84, 1.88), starting with 1.92 cm, taking it on the first attempt.

The Ukrainian also easily took the second mark of 1.96 meters.

The denouement came at 1.99, where only Australian Eleanor Patterson fought with Mahuchikh. The Ukrainian jumper conquered the bar again from the first time, leaving no chance for her opponent.

As the winner, Yaroslava tried to take the height of 2.03 meters, but all three attempts were unsuccessful.

Another Ukrainian, Iryna Herashchenko, finished in 5th place (1.88 meters).

As reported, at the 8th stage of the Diamond League in Paris, Mahuchikh broke the world record in women's high jump, which had been held since 1987. Yaroslava became the first woman in history to jump 2.1 meters.

A month later, Mahuchikh won a gold medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in the high jump. The 22-year-old from Dnipro took first place with a result of 2 meters. Iryna Herashchenko took third place (195 cm), winning bronze together with Eleanor Patterson (Australia). Mykhailo Kokhan also took third place in the hammer throw tournament.
