Lomachenko and Kambosos staged an "eternal" duel of looks before the championship fight. Video

Ukrainian boxer Vasyl Lomachenko (17-3, 11 KOs) and Australian boxer George Kambosos (21-2, 10 KOs) had their first duel of the eyes before the May 12 fight. The boxers met during the final press conference and staged a real visual battle that lasted more than three minutes.

The video was posted on the page of the Top Rank promotional company on the social network X, formerly known as Twitter. The video shows that at first the rivals were looking each other in the eye quite calmly, and then Lomachenko tried to throw Kambosos off balance with a smile.

Supervisors and even former world heavyweight champion Lucas Browne tried to separate the boxers. In the end, Vasyl and George parted ways, keeping their eyes on each other and shaking hands. The duel lasted three minutes and 26 seconds.

"It seems to me that we started the fight already during the face-to-face meeting. In a duel of the eyes, you can show whether you are strong or not. It's part of the game," the Ukrainian boxer commented.

As a reminder, the International Boxing Federation (IBF) lightweight title is at stake in the Lomachenko-Kambosos fight. On the eve of the fight, the Ukrainian admitted that his career was almost over. And in Russia, they predicted that Vasyl would have problems in the fight with the Australian.

Kambosos himself has been involved in scandal twice. First, he invited a boxer from Russia who supports the war against Ukraine to his training camp. And then he hung the flag of the aggressor country in the gym.

In addition, Lomachenko held a meeting with his compatriots in Perth, where he wore a T-shirt with a peace dove. The week before last, it became known that Ukraine refused to broadcast the match. Fans were told where to watch the fight in this case.
