Kristina Soloviy called Ukrainian singers who refuse to perform in front of the military "fools"
Ukrainian musician Khrystyna Soloviy has criticized her female colleagues who refuse to cooperate with the Cultural Landing Force. The artists refuse to perform in front of the military defending Ukraine from the enemy.
The singer shared her opinion during a briefing at Kharkiv Media Hub with the artistic director of the Kharkiv branch of the Cultural Landing, Oleksandr Remez, who is currently in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The press conference took place after Khrystyna Soloviy's performance for the military.
One of the questions about artists who refuse the offers of the Cultural Landing was answered frankly by the performer. Khrystyna Soloviy noted that she was speaking about specific singers, whose names she did not mention, "they are just fools." "I would develop this idea that there are a lot of adaptations and "shoe changers"," she continued, adding that they are aware of the impact they have on the audience.
Soloviy gives an example: artists who would have agreed to perform on the Russian stage not long ago record songs in Ukrainian or rework Ukrainian poetry, positioning themselves as conscious Ukrainians. "And such people, having popularity, authority and social capital, do not go to the front because they are fools," she concluded.
The Cultural Landing consists of artists who perform for the Ukrainian military at the front line and in rehabilitation centers. The project is headed by a TV presenter and musician Kolya Serga. "The Cultural Landing often invites celebrities to join the project, including singer Khrystyna Soloviy, who has repeatedly supported the initiative.
However, as OBOZ.UA previously wrote, not everyone agrees to the proposals of military artists. Some star colleagues refuse to perform at the front because of fear or personal reasons. Tina Karol was one of them, as Serhiy told us in an interview. Read all the details in our article.
