The fight was originally scheduled for February 17

The promoter of WBA, WBO, IBO, and IBF heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) has confirmed that the Ukrainian's most likely opponent may be undefeated Croatian Filip Hrgovic (17-0, 14 KOs). Oleksandr Krasiuk said that he is working on this issue "very intensively and very actively."

"We have little time for this. If God willing and the stars align, it will be Hrgovich. The decision must be made by representatives of Saudi Arabia," Krasiuk said during a live broadcast on his Instagram.

The 31-year-old native of Zagreb is a mandatory challenger for the International Boxing Federation (IBF) belt held by Usyk. On December 23, the Croatian fought Australian Mark DeMaury, whom he defeated in the first round.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, WBC titleholder Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) was injured on February 2 while preparing for a fight against WBA, WBO, IBO, and IBF heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs). The fight was officially postponed.

Tyson stated, apologizing for the disruption of the fight, and also showing a video of the moment of injury.

Usyk's team was cautious in commenting on the situation with the fight being canceled.

Earlier, the media reported on who could replace Tyson Fury in the fight with Usyk on February 17.

The legendary Lennox Lewis, who is the last absolute heavyweight champion of the world today, has already reacted to the megafight failure. According to the 58-year-old boxer, Tyson will need about 3 months to recover.

At the same time, the head of Saudi Arabia's General Directorate of Entertainment, Turki Al Al-Sheikh, made an official statement about the cancellation of the fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury.
