Knockout in one punch. The undefeated boxer sensationally lost in the 1st round on the Joshua-Ngannou undercard. Video
British middleweight boxer Jack McGann sensationally lost to his compatriot Louis Green (17-4, 11 KOs). The bout on the undercard of the Joshua-Ngannou show turned out to be a short-lived affair.
McGann was the bookmakers' favorite from the start, but the fight started off extremely poorly for him.
From the very beginning of the fight, McGann was under pressure from Green, who chased him around the ring and attacked him with combinations. Jack tried to defend himself, but he was pressed against the ropes or into the corner, which eventually proved fatal.
The denouement came 90 seconds before the end of the first round, when Louis Green brutally knocked out his opponent with a right hand. Jack managed to get to his feet by the end of the referee's countdown, but could not continue the fight.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, the fight between Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs) and former UFC champion Francis Ngannou (0-2, 0 KOs) ended in a knockout by the British heavyweight. It was Ngannou's second defeat in a row. On October 29 last year, Francis lost on points to Tyson Fury in a 10-round fight in Riyadh: 94:95, 96:93, 95:94.
In addition, on the Joshua-Ngannou undercard, Ukrainian super-bantamweight Andriy Novitsky (10-0, 9 KOs) scored his tenth anniversary victory in the professional ring. The 28-year-old native of Odesa effectively knocked out Juan Torres (11-6-1, 4 KOs) from the United States.
In the same show, Uzbekistan's Israil Madrimov (10-0-1, 9 KOs) inflicted the first defeat of his career on Russia's Magomed Kurbanov (25-1, 13 KOs) and became the world middleweight champion. The 29-year-old won the vacant belt with an early victory.
