In the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv, a rocket attack by Russia on the morning of Friday, December 20, damaged residential and office buildings, among other things. Unfortunately, there were injuries and a death.
Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klychko announced this on his Telegram channel. He urged city residents not to ignore the air raid alert.
"In the center of Kyiv, in the Holosiivskyi district, public utilities are working to eliminate the consequences of the morning enemy attack on the capital. Residential and office buildings and a hotel were damaged here. The heating main is heavily damaged. Several streets are blocked," said Klychko.
According to the mayor, the city has set up a headquarters where residents of the affected buildings can seek help. At present, Kyivteploenergo specialists are working to restore heat to residential buildings, medical facilities, schools, and kindergartens.
"Twelve victims sought medical assistance. 6 of them were hospitalized. One person died," Klychko added.
Later, the mayor of the capital clarified that Kyivteploenergo had promptly restored heat supply to more than 600 buildings that had no heat after the morning enemy attack. Specialists carried out the necessary technical work and localized the damage to the pipelines in the Holosiivskyi district on Antonovycha and Velyka Vasylkivska streets. The works are ongoing.
"Currently, 18 residential buildings, a hospital, and 13 departmental buildings are without heating and hot water supply. Heat supply has been restored to the rest of the buildings. Let me remind you that 630 residential buildings, 16 hospitals, and 30 educational institutions were left without heating in the morning as a result of the damage to the heating main," Klychko added.
