Kia's affordable electric cars prove problematic: owners dissatisfied
Korea's Hyundai Group offers some of the most affordable electric cars on the global market, including under the Kia brand. Prices are good, but owners are unhappy with technical problems and are even suing the company.
The details are reported by CarBuzz. Buyers of Hyundai, Kia and Genesis electric cars, which are part of the Hyundai Group, have filed a class action lawsuit against the company. Owners are facing problems while charging.
The company claimed that electric models are able to charge fully from the home grid in 5-7 hours. In fact, the figure is not true and owners are actually waiting longer.
The software update was supposed to fix this. However, the update did not help, because the manufacturer additionally increased the charging time to reduce the strong heating is another problem.
A lawsuit with dozens of owner complaints has been filed in the United States District Court in the Central District of California. If during the process the guilt will be proved, the automaker will be obliged to pay compensation.
