Jennifer Lopez shows a forgotten manicure that breaks trends again. Photo
Fashion trends come back from time to time, delighting the new generation. One such manicure trend from the late noughties was demonstrated during the Grammy Awards by singer and actress Jennifer Lopez.
She didn't wear her usual nude nails on the red carpet but made a magnetic manicure with a frosty finish. The nail technician Tom Bachik, whom J.Lo trusts with her hands, showed how it looked on his Instagram.
The essence of a magnetic manicure is the use of varnish with special metal particles. If you put a magnet to your nails while decorating them, these particles change their position, creating an interesting effect. In the case of Jennifer Lopez, it was the cat-eye effect, which is now at the peak of popularity.
For the star's manicure, Bacik used his Click Colors Magnet Gel in Iced Chai. With its help, he gave Lopez's nails a matte champagne shade with a lot of glitter in the thickness of the varnish and a light magnetic effect. At the same time, the shape of the nail plate for the star was made almond-shaped and elongated.
You can create a magnetic manicure with a cat's eye effect at home. To do this, you need to have a special varnish with metal particles in your cosmetic cabinet. When you hold the magnet up to a nail with the polish still wet, it will attract these particles, creating a stunning pattern that attracts light, giving your nails a unique 3D shimmering shine that changes with every movement.
Here's how to do this manicure yourself step by step.
- Start with the base. Prepare your nails by shaping them and applying a base coat, then dry them under a UV or LED lamp.
- Apply the base color. For extra depth, paint the nail with a color that complements the cat eye effect and dry it.
- Apply cat eye gel polish. But do not dry it yet.
- Use a magnet. Hold the double-sided magnet over the uncured polish for a few seconds to create your own design – from light waves to bold lines or a solid illusion.
- Dry your nails. Once you have achieved the desired effect, dry the polish under a UV/LED lamp.
- Perfect the design. For a more expressive look, apply another coat of cat-eye varnish, repeat the step with the magnet, and finish the manicure with a top coat to secure the design.
