Its own Royal Gardens and Palace of Versailles: beautiful spots in Vinnytsia region that look like famous foreign sights
Vinnytsia region is a picturesque place for a relaxing weekend. It is home to interesting historical sights, nature reserves, and luxurious palaces. OBOZREVATEL offers 5 places in the region that resemble the world's best resorts.
Nemyriv Palace
More than 140 years ago, Maria Shcherbatova chose a beautiful spot in the village of Nemyriv to build her palace. She entrusted the work on the project to the then famous Czech architect Jiří Stibral. He brought distinct Prague accents to the building's decor. Stucco moldings, columns, and clear lines make the manor truly fabulous.
And for those who enjoy long walks, one of the most famous arboretums in Ukraine is located nearby - Shcherbatova park. By the way, since 2007, it is included in the list of 7 wonders of this region.
Grocholski-Mozhaisky Palace
At the end of the 18th century, a Polish magnate built a real medieval castle in the village of Vorontsovytsia. Mighty towers rise on both sides of the building. Strong walls and double gates were to be built around it. However, the plans were not to be realized.
The estate was rebuilt many times. Over time, a second floor and new luxurious halls were added, the defenses disappeared, and stables and outbuildings were built in their place. However, even now the beauty of the palace does not leave anyone indifferent.
The long corridors of the building seem to be connected with the halls of the Palace of Versailles. All this makes an incredible impression on tourists.
Svyato-Usiknovensky Lyadovsky Rock Monastery
The Usiknovensky Rock Monastery is located near the village of Liadova on a cliff above the Dnister River. According to a legend, the first cell in the hill was dug by St. Anthony of Kyiv, the founder of the Kyiv Cave Monastery.
Since then, the shrine has only grown and become stronger and more beautiful. From the outside, it is very similar to the Armenian temple of Geghard, which dates back to the 4th century. And inside both religious buildings there are many similar details that date back to the 11th-15th centuries.
White hills of Hlukhivtsi village
Ukraine has its own alternative to the famous Turkish resort of Pamukkale. This is Europe's largest quarry located near the village of Hlukhivtsi. Due to the high concentration of white clay, the water here almost always has a deep blue hue. And the shining hills around add an incredible atmosphere to this place.
Cherepashyntsi village
The locals call this resort "Ukrainian Maldives". And this name did not appear out of nowhere. The flooded quarry near the village of Cherepashyntsi indeed resembles the paradise island. Clean sandy beaches, luxurious hotels, and lush greenery make this region incredibly popular among Ukrainian tourists.
Vinnytsia region is an amazing destination with dozens of interesting locations. There's plenty to see, so choose your spot and enjoy the weekend getaway!
