Olympic champion Yaroslava Mahuchikh has confirmed that she cannot decide on a date for her wedding to her fiancé Nazar Stepanov. According to the 23-year-old athlete from Dnipro, she wants to hold this event with her family and friends, but it is impossible to gather relatives because of Russia's war against Ukraine.

Mahuchikh made the statement as part of the Sport Media Club Dnipro project, Ukrainian News reports. The world record holder in the high jump admitted that she had previously hoped for the war to end by the end of this year, but this will not happen, and she will still be in the status of a bride.

"When the wedding is a different question and it is very difficult for me now. Because I used to be convinced that this year the war would end and we would be able to invite relatives and friends who are now all scattered around the world because of the war," Mahuchikh said.

Earlier, Yaroslawa responded to the fans because of the hate speech against her fiancé. Mahuchikh and her lover made a splash during the award ceremony for the best athlete in Europe.
