The fight may take place after the rematch with Fury
Mauricio Sulaiman, President of the World Boxing Council (WBC), said that he would like to see IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) fight the winner of the rematch between Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) and Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs). In an interview with the Seconds Out YouTube channel, Suleiman admitted that the WBC is not a promoter, but always supports the idea of a fight for the absolute champion title as much as possible.
"I would like to see Dubois fight the winner of the Usyk-Fury 2 fight. I would love to see the two fighters fight for this title. No doubt it will be a sensational event. We all have to work to make it happen," said the WBC president.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, on November 1, Usyk's manager Aegis Klimas, speaking about the plans of the Ukrainian super heavyweight, confirmed his desire to rematch Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs).
Before that, 27-year-old Daniel said he was going to "finish" Usyk in a rematch.
In the first fight, Oleksandr defeated Tyson by split decision - 114:113, 113:114, 115:112 - and became the absolute world heavyweight champion.
On September 22, Daniel Du Bois inflicted a sensational defeat on former titleholder Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs). The fight for the belt previously held by Usyk ended in a knockout in the fifth round.
On August 30, 2023, Du Bois lost to Usyk, despite a sneaky punch from the British heavyweight between the legs.
On December 21, Oleksandr Usyk will have his rematch against Tyson Fury. In the first fight , our compatriot defeated Fury by split decision - 114:113, 113:114, 115:112 - and became the absolute world heavyweight champion.
Commenting on the upcoming rematch between Usyk and Fury, Daniel said that the Ukrainian's undefeated streak, which continues to defeat British boxers, should be stopped, and Fury is clearly capable of beating the Ukrainian boxer.
