When it comes to cleaning your home, the bathroom is the one place you really should never skip. It is important to keep everything in the bathroom not only clean but also hygienic.

But how to achieve this without spending a lot of time and effort? Professional cleaner Kendra Hannassi, who gives household tips on Twitter under the handle @themotherlikeaboss, says that one simple habit that will take no more than 60 seconds of your time will be very helpful.

Kendra calls this habit "do and then put away". The idea is to clean individual surfaces and parts of the room immediately after you use them. Since you will be dealing with fresh dirt, cleaning will take you literally seconds and require little to no effort.

The blogger gave several examples. So a couple of times a week, after brushing her teeth, she wipes down the bathroom sink. "It literally takes me less than a minute, and then I don't have to worry about washing off all that toothpaste or cleaning up hair stuck in the drain every week or two," Kendra said.

She does the same with the glass shower partition. She goes over it with a scrubber when she takes a shower. "Again, it only takes me about 60 seconds, and it prevents all the nasty soap, limescale, and water spots from getting on it," the blogger shared.

Kendra explained that keeping your home clean becomes much easier when you realize that you don't have to wait for a certain amount of time to get the job done, as these small tasks can become part of your routine. Anything you can do in a very short amount of time, such as wiping surfaces or pulling hair out of the drain, you can tie into other habits, such as taking a shower or brushing your teeth.
