iPhone 17 is already being tested: details are known
Although the next Apple presentation is almost a year away, the company is already actively working on the products it will show in September. As for the iPhone 17, it is known that its prototype is already being tested, and the site was chosen quite unexpectedly.
According to MacRumors, citing Wayne Ma of The Information, Apple's manufacturing partner Foxconn is conducting early development of the iPhone 17 base model at a factory in Bangalore, India. According to a paid report obtained by the publication, the new smartphone has already passed the early stages of development
Apple is now evaluating whether engineers in India can develop iPhone prototypes that match the quality of those assembled at its headquarters in California. Apple's goal is to start developing new iPhones as early as possible in locations closer to the final assembly site. In the long run, this could lead to lower operating costs for the company.
The report does not reveal any new features or changes planned for the iPhone 17. However, Apple supply chain analyst Jeff Pu shared in his research report what features he expects from the base model:
- 6.1-inch screen;
- A19 chip;
- 8 GB of RAM;
- an upgraded 24-megapixel front camera;
- two rear cameras, including 48-megapixel Fusion and 12-megapixel Ultra Wide;
- aluminum body.
Based on this data, the iPhone 17 is unlikely to be a major step forward compared to this year's model.
Meanwhile, reports on current affairs indicate that work continues on the ultra-thin iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. This work is still being done in China. Pu believes that the ultra-thin iPhone 17 will feature a single 48-megapixel rear camera, 8GB of RAM, and other features. While the iPhone 17 Pro models are rumored to come with a 48-megapixel telephoto camera, 12GB of RAM, and other features. The devices should be released in September next year.
