Instagram is launching a bonus program that allows creators to earn up to $50,000 per month for exclusive Reels published before TikTok. The program aims to strengthen Instagram's position in the fight for authors and users by offering rewards for unique content.

According to the report by The Information, the amount of bonuses varies from $10,000 to $50,000 per month.

However, Meta, the parent company of Instagram, confirmed that at the start, authors can earn up to $5000 in the first three months. The program, called Breakthrough Bonus, aims to attract TikTok creators to develop their communities on Instagram and Facebook.

According to Meta spokesperson Paige Cohen, in the coming months, the company plans to offer content deals to creators that will help them expand their audience in the Meta ecosystem. Meta already has experience in attracting creators with bonuses.

In 2021, Instagram launched the Reels rewards program for creators, but in 2022, payments were significantly reduced, and in 2023, the program was discontinued. This time, Meta focuses on content exclusivity, which will allow Instagram to strengthen its position in the short video market.

The launch of the program coincided with a difficult period for TikTok, which is facing challenges in the United States. The country has temporarily blocked the social network, and the federal law on a possible ban is forcing TikTok to look for ways to adapt to the new conditions.

Instagram realizes that it needs to attract the best content creators to compete for users' attention. The exclusivity of Reels offered by the new program allows not only to reduce the influence of TikTok, but also to encourage authors to focus on Meta platforms.
