Residents of the Russian city of Makhachkala have taken to the streets to protest another power outage. They complained about the quality of life in the city, as they are not even able to take a shower at home after a day of work and traveling by public transport.

This was reported by Russian Telegram channels. It is noted that this is not the first time that Russians have come to the rally – the previous one took place on July 10. In protest, people walked continuously on the pedestrian crossing until the lights were turned on.

At the same time, social media reacted ironically to the news that the Russian government had ranked Makhachkala among the top 5 best cities for quality of life.

As a reminder, the Rostov region of the Russian Federation suddenly experienced a "power shortage" after the latest drone attacks. As a result, on July 6, the region announced the introduction of a schedule of temporary power outages for household consumers. According to local media, it provides for power outages of up to 2-3 hours. But in reality, Russians are complaining that they have been without power for 6-9-12 hours.

It is noteworthy that the "inconvenience" has affected not only household users: in Rostov-on-Don, locals report that traffic lights have not been working for two days, and employees and visitors have been evacuated from shopping centers after the power outage.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, on July 3, the Oskol Ugarov Electrometallurgical Plant (OEMK), the only full-cycle metallurgical enterprise in Russia, stopped working in Stary Oskol, Belgorod region, Russia. The plant has been completely de-energized, and equipment may need to be repaired or even replaced.
