In Kyiv's Sviatoshynskyi district, sapper divers found the remains of a Russian strategic cruise missile X-101. Specialists discovered them while inspecting the waters of a local pond.
This was reported by the press service of the Mobile Rescue Center of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. The explosive find was taken to a special landfill.
"In Kyiv, sapper divers of the Mobile Rescue Center of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine found and removed the remains of a Russian strategic cruise missile X-101. They were found in one of the ponds after previous enemy shelling of the city and transported to a special training ground for further destruction by controlled explosion," the statement said.
The X-101 is a Russian strategic air-to-ground cruise missile using radar-avoidance technologies. It was widely used during the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
As a reminder, the undetonated remains of an anti-tank missile system were found in Irpin, Kyiv region, on the territory of a former recreation camp. The remains of the missile were stuck in the trunk of an old pine tree at a height of about 12 meters.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, the wreckage of a Russian UAV was found during a cleanup in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv. The incident happened on Saturday, July 27, near the ponds of the same name.
