"I'm confident. It's going to be hard": Joshua's promoter speaks about Klitschko's return to boxing
Famous British promoter Eddie Hearn has expressed confidence that legendary Wladimir Klitschko (64-5-0-1, 54 KOs) will face serious difficulties if he decides to resume his career. At the same time, the head of Matchroom Boxing, which manages Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs), noted that the Ukrainian has been in shape since his last fight against his client in 2017.
Hearn voiced this opinion in an interview with the BetFred project, according to the website of the DAZN streaming platform. He also called for waiting for Klitschko Jr.'s final decision to return to the ring, allowing the legendary heavyweight to make the most beneficial move for him.
"Wladimir is smart enough to make his own decision. He hadn't been in the ring for a long time after the Anthony Joshua fight, but he kept himself in amazing physical shape. Not that Wladimir looked terrible in that fight. He almost beat Joshua. But I'm sure it's going to be hard for him to come back, but he's a very strong man, a great champion, and whatever decision he makes, I'm sure it's the right one for him," Hearn said.
Wladimir recently broke his silence about the comeback. The situation was also clarified by Klitschko's manager Tom Loeffler, who noted that the athlete continues to keep himself in shape.
In addition, it has become known that Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) may facilitate Klitschko's comeback to the professional ring. Wladimir may be organized a rematch with Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs).
