"I won't let him get away with it": Dubois threatens revenge on Usyk
The International Boxing Federation (IBF) belt holder Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) has threatened to knock out unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs). At the same time, the Briton reminded that his fight against Joseph Parker (35-3, 23 KOs), scheduled for February 22, is on his way to the goal of rematching the Ukrainian.
Dubois said this in an interview with Sky Sports during The Ring magazine's ceremony, which took place last weekend in London. The 27-year-old boxer also emphasized that he is confident in himself and called it luck that Usyk won the first fight in August 2023.
"I am confident in myself. I'm ready to fight. I'm on the rise and I need to keep this momentum going until I'm on top. In the rematch, I won't let Usyk off the hook. He was lucky last time. I need to correct this injustice and get my revenge. I need to take revenge. But first, Joseph Parker. All eyes are on him," said Dubois.
It is worth noting that the head of the Saudi General Authority for Entertainment, Turki Al-Al-Sheikh, announced his intention to organize a rematch between the British and Ukrainian.
Dubois challenged Usyk when he appeared in the ring after the Ukrainian's victory over Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs). Daniel later explained his action.
We'd like to remind you that Oleksandr defeated Daniel by TKO in the ninth round, and the Briton scored with a dirty punch below the belt.
In turn, British boxer Frazier Clark (8-1-1, 6 KOs) called on the Ukrainian to end his career. And the bookmakers named Dubois-Parker as the favorite of the fight.
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Oleksandr Usyk made a splash in London by winning three awards from The Ring magazine. After the ceremony, the Ukrainian champion made a statement to the boxing community.
Manager Aegis Klimas told when our boxer plans to return to the ring. Artificial intelligence has already made a prediction for the Ukrainian's fight.
