"I was proposed, but I don't want to." Mahuchikh answered questions about getting married to a 20-year-old groom
Olympic champion Yaroslava Mahuchikh has no intention of getting married to her fiancé Nazar Stepanov outside of Ukraine. According to the world record holder in high jumping, the couple is waiting for the situation in their home country to become safer to organize the ceremony.
Mahuchikh said this in an interview with the YouTube channel of the "Dim" TV channel. The 23-year-old Dnipro native added that she had already been offered a wedding abroad, but Yaroslava and Nazar are not even considering this option because they want to gather all their loved ones, many of whom have left the country due to Russia's military aggression.
"We are waiting for the right moment. They say that today we have to live here and now. But we still need to find a moment when everything is good – in Ukraine and the world. I was offered to organize it abroad, but I don't want to. I want to get married in Ukraine. Since childhood, I wanted a wedding at home, with relatives, with all the feasts. Of course, when I grew up, I no longer wanted such a large-scale, big wedding as I used to. But I still want to gather my family and friends in one place," said Mahuchikh.
Earlier, the athlete spoke about her relationship with her fiancé. Before that, Yaroslawa responded to the fans through a hate speech against Nazar. Mahuchikh and her lover made a splash during the award ceremony for the best athlete in Europe.
