"I don't understand it": Russian national team player could not answer the question why the team was suspended from international tournaments

Dynamo and Russian national team midfielder Daniil Fomin gave a strange explanation for the exclusion of teams from the aggressor country from international competitions. The 26-year-old footballer, saying "I'm not really good at this anymore," stuttered about politics in sports, but was unable to clearly articulate his thoughts.
Fomin said this in an interview with the propaganda news agency TASS. According to the Dynamo player, he dreams of playing in the Champions League and major national team tournaments, and also admitted that he "did not delve into the topic of Russia's transition to Asia."
"The main thing is that they will eventually allow us to participate. Let's hope and believe that all teams will be allowed to participate step by step, so we can participate and play everywhere. Probably, there is more politics here, I'm not particularly good at it anymore. What do you think about the possible transition to the Asian Football Confederation? Nobody knows whether we will play there or not. I didn't really delve into this topic. We all grew up watching the Russian national team's qualifying matches for the European and World Cups. Everyone wanted to listen to the Champions League anthem. So, if there is such a hope, I would certainly like to play here in Europe," Fomin said.
The day before, the Russian national team snatched a draw in a match against Kenya, shocking its own fans.
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, on October 12, the Russian national team narrowly defeated another African team - Cameroon.
