"I don't expect him to": Fury's promoter on whether Tyson will return to boxing
Former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) is not going to resume his career, which he announced was over after his second defeat to Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs). The Gypsy King, as the Briton is known, is currently enjoying his vacation and spending time with his family.
Frank Warren, the promoter, told this in an interview with Seconds Out YouTube channel. The head of Queensberry Promotions, which manages Fury's business, noted that he was proud of the British fighter's achievements in the professional ring, where he had many fights.
"At this moment in time, I don’t expect him to come back… He’s enjoying his retirement and spending time with his family. If he’s happy, I’m happy. He's made lots of money, he's a very wealthy man, he's been involved in some of the best fights of the 21st century. What he's managed to do coming back from terrible mental state, boozing, and substance abuse, is win a world title. I think it's a credit to him," Warren said.
Fury announced his retirement on January 13. It is important to remember that he has already done this twice - in 2017 after defeating Volodymyr Klycho, and in 2022 after victory over Dillian Whyte (30-3, 20 KOs). Despite those statements, Fury then returned to the ring a few months later.
At the same time, Tyson has already received an ultimatum from promoter Eddie Hearn, who demands that the Gypsy King fight Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs).
As reported, the head of Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority, Turki Al-Sheikh, intends to persuade Tyson Fury to resume his career. After the rematch with Oleksandr Usyk, the Briton informed his team that he was going to continue boxing.
