The United States will not betray Ukraine and will fulfill all its obligations. The only question is the dates, as an understanding has been reached with both President Biden and both parties.

This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a press conference. He noted that the United States understands

  • how the current situation is affected by the postponement of the dates of assistance to Ukraine;
  • that Ukraine's persistence in this matter is "not artificial".

"We are working very hard. I am sure that the United States will not betray us. The United States is a very powerful figure of assistance. They know the details, how it affects the postponement of dates, they know that our persistence is not artificial. It is necessary for the sustainability of defense... I found an understanding with President Biden and with both parties. The issue is the dates," the President said.

He expressed confidence that Ukraine will be able to receive assistance from the EU in the amount of 50 billion euros. According to him, the decision will be made in the near future.

Moreover, Zelenskyy emphasized, this week Ukraine will receive 1.5 billion euros from the European Union. "As for the €50 billion, I am sure the decision will be made soon," he assured.

Who else is helping Ukraine

At the same time, the President emphasized that many countries provide assistance to Ukraine. In particular:

  • Belgium has guaranteed 1.7 billion (currency not specified – Ed.);
  • Denmark – 4.2 billion;
  • Korea – 2.3 billion;
  • Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands – hundreds of millions;
  • Norway – 7.5 billion;
  • France – 2 billion;
  • Germany – 8 billion;
  • Sweden – more than 0.5 billion;
  • Japan – "multibillion-dollar aid".

"I am grateful for the new relations with the EU and European countries, which really respect us very much, very much, are proud of our people, we have built special personal relations with them. Long-term assistance will be a shoulder to lean on if there are risks. Our partners will not let us down," Zelenskyy summarized.
