According to the weather forecast, the coming weeks will be very hot. Power outages will continue, so you won't be able to cool your apartment with an air conditioner. It is especially difficult to fall asleep in the heat, which further exhausts the body. What should you do in such a difficult situation?

Experts say that simple techniques that do not require electricity will help to reduce the temperature in the room by several degrees. OBOZ.UA has collected their tips.

Sunscreen film

A special film that reflects the sun's rays will help prevent the room from heating up, which is even more important than cooling in the heat. This film looks like foil, but it is translucent. It is glued to the windows. All you need is water. Spray it on a clean glass, attach a prepared piece of film of the appropriate size and smooth it well. Carefully glued and then removed, the film can be reused.

Curtains and blinds

Another way to keep the sun's scorching rays out is to close the curtains or blinds. If you don't have something to cover your windows, a sheet to cover the windows with can be a temporary solution. On a balcony, the curtain should be thicker as it tends to get hot the most.

Ventilation

When it gets dark outside, don't just remove the curtains from the windows but also open them wide. Cool air will help keep the room at a comfortable temperature.

Humidification

Moderate humidification also slightly reduces the temperature. Therefore, in the heat of the day, you can turn on a household humidifier or spray liquid from a mechanical sprayer every 1.5-2 hours. It will also be nice to spray yourself from time to time.

Wet cleaning

Another way to effectively moisturize in the heat is to wet clean. Quickly go over the floor with a mop and cold water whenever you feel the need. You'll notice that the room feels less stuffy. For your comfort and to help reduce the temperature, remove carpets as well.

Wet sheets

Cold wet sheets can be used as cooling curtains in your home. To do this, wet them, wring them out so that the water stops flowing, and hang them on doorways and windows. The hot air passing through the sheet will cool the room.

Fan

Airflow is always effective. To increase the effectiveness of the fan, place a bottle of frozen water or a bowl of ice in front of it.

Range hood

Whenever you are cooking or taking a bath, turn on the range hood. These devices will remove almost all of the hot steam from the air and prevent the room from heating up.

Energy-saving lamps

Such lighting devices not only help reduce energy consumption. They also do not heat up during operation.

Minimal textiles

Bedspreads, rugs, pillows and other textiles, as well as soft toys, don't just heat up well in the heat. They also retain heat for a long time. Therefore, in the heat, keep their number in the interior to a minimum.
