Yulia PoteriankoNews
You can deal with the problem without dry cleaning

A sick child, a burping baby, a person with motion sickness, or a friend after a wild party - any of them can leave a vomit stain in your car interior. In addition to the stain itself, it also reminds you of itself with a specific smell.

But don't rush to the dry cleaners. You can cope with the problem yourself with the help of improvised means. Sante Plus has collected all the main life hacks.

Prepare everything you need

To clean the interior of a car where someone has thrown up, you will need certain tools and supplies. Here's what you'll need to prepare:

  • rubber gloves and a mask;
  • a spatula or spoon to clean the surface;
  • a plastic bag or garbage bag;
  • paper towels, clean microfiber cloths to blot the contaminated area;
  • containers for preparing a cleaning solution;
  • spray bottle;
  • a soft-bristled brush to remove stains;
  • stain removers - white vinegar, baking soda, ammonia, dishwashing liquid, etc.

Pre-cleaning

Start cleaning by collecting all the hard particles. Make sure to remove any residue from the seats, carpets, and other interior elements.

Next, blot the stained area with paper towels or microfiber. Press the surface as hard as you can to remove all the liquid that is possible. Vacuuming the stain is also a good idea.

Sprinkle baking soda generously over the stained area to remove the unpleasant odor and help dissolve some of the stain. Leave it on for 20 minutes and then vacuum it up.

Cleaning vinyl, textile, and plastic surfaces

White vinegar, warm water, and dishwashing liquid will help you clean them. Mix a cup of water, 1/8 cup of vinegar, and three drops of dishwashing liquid in a spray bottle, spray the stained area, and rub it thoroughly with a cloth. Then wipe off any residue with a damp cloth and let the area dry.

Clean leather surfaces

A baking soda paste is a good way to clean leather. Mix one cup of baking soda with a third of a cup of water, apply the paste with a soft brush to the stained area and leave it on for 30 minutes. Then brush the stain, remove the remaining baking soda and wipe it with a damp cloth.

Cleaning the rug

To remove vomit stains from your car floor mats, mix the following ingredients in a spray bottle:

  • 1 cup white vinegar;
  • 2 tablespoons of baking soda;
  • 2 tablespoons of fabric softener;
  • 0.5 tablespoon of dishwashing liquid;
  • 10-15 drops of essential oil (optional).

Spray the resulting liquid on the stain and leave it to act for a few minutes. Then brush the surface with a soft brush and rinse it with clean water.

Steam cleaning

Wherever vomit stains appear on your car, you can use a steam generator to clean them. When cleaning, follow the recommendations for the type of material you are steaming. The steam cleaner will remove the stain, eliminate the odor, and kill bacteria as well.
