Dirty glass surfaces can ruin the impression of the most beautiful interior or landscape. That's why they need to be cleaned regularly to maintain coziness.

Many people are used to using chemicals to clean glass, but they can be harmful to health and the environment. Luckily, House Digest has told us about budget-friendly and effective alternatives.

Nowadays, more and more people are paying attention to the environmental friendliness and safety of household products. Many chemicals contain aggressive substances that can cause allergies, and skin and respiratory irritation. In addition, they pollute the environment and cause damage to natural water resources.

Therefore, it is worth switching to natural alternatives. They are not only safer, but also much cheaper than their commercial competitors.

Cornstarch

Cornstarch is one of the ingredients you can use in a homemade glass cleaner. It absorbs liquid and is also mildly abrasive.

First, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with one-fourth cup of white vinegar and 4 cups of lukewarm water. Then pour your newly created natural cleaner into a spray bottle so that it is easy to apply.

White vinegar

White vinegar is another ingredient that can be used in many household chores due to its acidic nature.

To make a solution for cleaning windows and other glass surfaces, mix 3 tablespoons of white vinegar with 4 cups of warm water in a spray bottle.

Alcohol

Alcohol can be particularly effective against grease and stubborn dirt that has appeared on windows or glass panes, for example. It has the advantage of evaporating quickly and leaving no streaks.

To make an effective cleaner, mix a quarter cup of alcohol with 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, a quarter cup of vinegar, and 2 cups of warm water. Shake the bottle well before use to prevent the cornstarch from settling to the bottom.

Liquid detergent

If your windows are very dirty on the outside of the house, a liquid cleaner is the best way to clean them. Just mix 1 tablespoon with 4 cups of water and start cleaning.

Hydrogen peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide is a great tool for cleaning windows inside and out. This first-aid kit ingredient is not as acidic as vinegar, but it can still handle even the most stubborn stains. Unlike the other ingredients, peroxide does not need to be mixed with water before use.

Lemon juice

Like vinegar, lemon juice is another acidic ingredient that is often used for a variety of household purposes. Due to its acidity, it is a powerful cleaning agent that can break down various minerals, dirt, and rust.

To clean glass surfaces with it, mix 4 cups of water with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice.
