How to always look young: a designer has an effective way

There are many ways to make yourself look younger - you can change your hair and makeup, you can go in for sports. Or you can reconsider your approach to your wardrobe.

British designer Amanda Wakely gave GBNews some tips on how to do it right. She received the Order of the British Empire for her contribution to fashion, and at the age of 61, she dresses as if there is no such thing as age at all. So she just explained how to achieve the same effect for any woman.

According to Wakely, as you get older, you need to chase fashion trends less and put your personal style at the forefront. "Try to develop the DNA of your style and add fashionable items that you like. Wear your clothes - don't let them wear you - and, most importantly, enjoy yourself," the designer advised.

This means that you should give preference to things that suit you and in which you are comfortable in the first place. And add some trendy items to your outfit to make it look modern.

Over the years, the "less is more" approach has also become increasingly relevant. It helps you look younger. "If you have great hair, soften your makeup. On the other hand, if you have long hair, put it in a casual ponytail, but add glossy red lips," Wakely suggested.

She advised to make elegant looks less formal with the help of some individual elements in the casual style. For example, wear white sneakers or a simple white T-shirt with a business suit. Or even both of these things. While simpler sets, according to the designer, should be complemented with something truly extravagant: "Add a statement piece of jewelry, such as a chunky gold or silver necklace, to jeans, a T-shirt, and an oversized jacket with a masculine cut draped over the shoulders."

According to Wakely, adding a sporty touch adds an element of cool to almost any look. Thus, a luxurious tailored coat will go well with joggers, sneakers and a baseball cap.

However, the designer emphasized that style tricks can be learned, but the main role will still be played by personal taste, which must be developed throughout life. Women should experiment to find what really suits them, from the cut to the colors and shapes.
