The House of Moscow will be put up for auction in Riga
Latvia will auction off a land plot in the center of Riga and the so-called House of Moscow located on it, which previously belonged to the government of the terrorist country of Russia. It was previously nationalized by a decision of the Saeima.
The proceeds will be donated to help Ukraine. This was reported by LSM regarding the government's decision.
According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, the House of Moscow and the land plot will be transferred to the Ministry of Finance, which will allow the Valsts nekustamie īpašumi company to sell the property at auction. The value of the land plot is EUR 517,083, and the value of the building is EUR 2,348,340.
The funds received at the auction (after deducting administrative expenses) are planned to be transferred to support Ukraine, so special amendments to the law will be submitted to the Seimas. It is noted that the facility may not be sold quickly, so the deal may not take place in 2024.
