The second son of the head of the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) Andriy Shevchenko is receiving a passport with a trident, sport.ua reports. According to media reports, Christian, who was born in November 2006 in London, wants to become a citizen of Ukraine.

Christian Shevchenko began his career at Chelsea's academy. In the summer of 2023, he joined Watford, with whom he signed a two-year contract. He plays for the U-18 team as a center forward.

The Transfermarkt portal states that Shevchenko Jr. can play for the national teams of Ukraine, the United States, Poland, and England.

In an interview with Roman Bebekh, Andriy Shevchenko said that his son would play in the Ukrainian national team if his level allows.

"In order for him to play for a country, he must be called up. He must show his level. If he shows his level, the team will call him up. I know that there is a lot of pressure on him. He loves football very much. He has a character, so I understand that it is not easy for him. He is in love with football. I can see that. I can see his enthusiasm is very high," Shevchenko Sr. admitted.

Andrii Mykolaiovych added that if Christian manages to gain a foothold at Watford, the coaching staffs of the U-17 and U-19 national teams will be looking closely at his game.

In December 23 last year, Christian successfully played his first match for the English club Watford. The 17-year-old footballer made his debut for the U-21 team.

Christian came on as a substitute in the cup game against Tring Athletic in the 75th minute and earned a penalty in the 91st minute.
