Half of them are Ukrainians: the top 10 most expensive footballers from "CIS countries" are named

Five players of the Ukrainian national team were among the most expensive players from the former Soviet Union in history at the time of their peak value. The top 10 also includes athletes from Georgia, Armenia, and the aggressor country, represented by a naturalized Brazilian.

Such data was published by the popular Transfermarkt portal. According to experts and analysts, the leader of the Georgian national team and Italian Napoli, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, whose transfer price reached its maximum at 85 million euros last year, is at the top of the ranking.

He was followed by three Ukrainians: Mykhailo Mudryk (60 million euros), Andrii Shevchenko (51 million during his time with AC Milan), and one of the captains of the current blue-and-yellow team, Oleksandr Zinchenko (42 million).

Armenian Henrikh Mkhitaryan rounded out the top five. The former Shakhtar player was valued at 37 million in European currency while playing for Borussia Dortmund. Ruslan Malynovskyi and Artem Dovbyk also made the top ten most valuable players. In total, 11 Ukrainians were ranked among the 18 most valuable football players.
