Golden Globes 2025: when it will take place, who is nominated and what it has to do with the Russians
The 82nd annual Golden Globe Awards, the main "rehearsal" for the prestigious Oscars, which marks the beginning of the awards season, will take place on January 6. The event will be a luxurious kick-off for this year's red carpet and a joyful start to the entertainment-filled year ahead.
The nominees for the Golden Globes 2025 represent a wide variety of industries. The main categories include such hits of 2024 as Wicked, Conclave, The Brutalist and Dune: Part Two, as well as popular actors and actresses who will compete for the title of the best in a number of nominations.
However, it will not be without the Russians: propagandist Yura Borisov will compete for the Best Supporting Actor award. He and several other Russian citizens became the stars of the comedy drama Anora by American director Sean Baker, which tells the story of the love between a New York stripper and the son of a Russian oligarch.
The ceremony will begin at approximately 5 a.m. on January 6 and will be broadcast on the US television channel CBS. The event will take place at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. The Golden Globes will also be available on the Paramount+ app in the US only. Additionally, streaming TV services such as Hulu+ Live TV, DIRECTV STREAM, Fubo and YouTube Live provide access to CBS by offering free trials.
