French couturier Coco Chanel said, "No elegance is possible without perfume. It is an invisible, unforgettable and unique accessory." And royals seem to agree with this. To complete their look, they choose fragrances from a number of leading manufacturers.
Most Windsors stick to the average price of £120 (approximately 5,300 UAH) for 100 ml of luxury perfume. But, for example, Princess Anne is ready to pay even more for her favorite bottle as she buys Calèche by Hermès, the price of which reaches £204 (approximately 9 thousand UAH) per 100 ml. 1. Catherine, Princess of Wales
Kate Middleton is a fan of Jo Malone London Orange Blossom cologne, which has a rich aroma: orange blossom, lilac, water lily, iris and vetiver. The average price is £118 per 100 ml (approximately 5,205 UAH). The princess chose it for a special occasion: her wedding, when she was walking down the aisle. Another favorite of Kate's is White Gardenia Petals by Illuminum (£100 per 100 ml; approx. 4,410 UAH) with notes of black currant, lily, gardenia, ylang-ylang, and jasmine.
2. Elizabeth II
The former Queen of the United Kingdom and 14 countries of the Commonwealth of Nations, Elizabeth II, favored three luxury perfumes throughout her life. The first is Chanel No. 5 (£136 per 100 ml; almost 6 thousand UAH). Her Majesty became a fan of this fragrance after receiving it as a gift from Prince Philip.
The second favorite is Guerlain L'Heure Bleue (£120 for 75 ml; about 5,293 UAH); with citrus and delicate floral notes. her last favorite perfume is White Rose by Floris (£100 for 100 ml: approximately 4,410 UAH): it has a rich aroma of fresh white roses with notes of amber, musk, iris, jasmine and violet. Interestingly, this perfume brand received a royal order from Elizabeth II.
3. Meghan Markle
The wife of British Prince Harry, the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle alternates between several fragrances. Her favorite is Wild Bluebell by Jo Malone (£118 for 100 ml; approx. 5,205 UAH). It has a lot of similar notes to Penhaligon's Bluebell perfume, which Princess Diana loved to wear: citrus, as well as lily of the valley, rose, jasmine, and carnation.
Meghan also adores Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne by Jo Malone (£119 for 100 ml, approx. 5,249 UAH), Oribe Côte d'Azur Eau de Parfum (£121 for 100 ml, approx. 5,337 UAH) and Givenchy Dahlia Divin Eau de Parfum (£117 for 100 ml, approx. 5,160 UAH).
4. Princess Margaret
Elizabeth II's younger sister, Princess Margaret, has remained faithful to Oscar de la Renta perfume for many years (£67 for 100 ml; approx. 2,955 UAH). The composition of the fragrance includes notes of lavender, rosemary and clove, orange blossom, peach and gardenia.
5. Princess Beatrice
The eldest daughter of Andrew, the Duke of York, the second son of Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Beatrice received a unique gift for her 21st birthday, Beatrice perfume named in her honor. Who exactly decided to surprise this lady in such a way remains a mystery. It is only known that the princess liked the new fragrance, which she still wears at the age of 35.
