Former world heavyweight explains what Usyk needs to do next to surpass Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson

Usyk can surpass Ali and Tyson

Unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) should retire after two victories over Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs). This will make the Ukrainian the greatest boxer in history and leave him undefeated in two heavyweight categories.

This opinion was expressed by former world heavyweight champion Mairis Briedis on his YouTube channel. According to the Latvian, many greatest champions failed to finish their careers in time to remain not only the best but also a truly intelligent athlete.

"I would have finished my career if I were Oleksandr. Because, unfortunately, all the great champions have this problem of not leaving in time. Neither Mike Tyson nor Muhammad Ali did it... If Oleksandr does the right decision now, he will become more than one of the smartest boxers. Well, he can also go and miss a punch from Dubois and everything will collapse like a house of cards," Briedis said.

As a reminder, the day before, Usyk got an unexpected opponent. The holder of the IBF super-heavyweight belt Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) challenged the Ukrainian.
