The legendary Ferrari company has decided to create the first electronic version of the car. Recently, insiders noticed that the new model is undergoing the testing stage.

The electric car is still at the development stage, so there is no comprehensive information about the novelty. The Autoexpress publication told about preliminary tests of the electric car.

Ferrari is preparing to unveil an electric car in 2025 or early 2026. It's safe to say that the EV will be a four-door, as the Maserati Levante prototype body suggests. That doesn't mean the electric car will be an SUV, but it could potentially take the form of a crossover with a rather aggressive styling, similar to the Purosangue.

The new electric car will probably be lower than its V12-powered "brother", however, as images show the prototype has a relatively low windshield base. In order to offer the performance we expect from any Ferrari, the new car is bound to have at least a twin engine with all-wheel drive.

While we can only guess at the potential power and performance figures Ferrari will be aiming for, the auto giant will also have to compete with already-selling electric cars such as the Porsche Taycan Turbo S or the new Audi RS e-tron GT Performance.

Conveying Ferrari's character will be an integral part of the new model, so the approach to noise will be a key factor. Just like Porsche and more recently Lotus, Ferrari is likely to amplify the natural noise of the electric motors.

Some of Purosangue's technical advances will also be applied to the new electric car: such as the use of intelligent fully active suspension and rear-wheel steering to make a great EV drive like a Ferrari should.
