Everything as requested by the prosecutor's office: the court imposed a preventive measure on the suspect in Farion's murder
On Friday, July 26, the Halytskyi District Court of Lviv imposed a pre-trial restraint on the suspect in the murder of a member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the 7th convocation, a well-known linguist Iryna Farion. Viacheslav Zinchenko, an 18-year-old resident of Dnipro, was taken into custody without the alternative of bail.
This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General. It is noted that the court did not listen to the defense and chose the preventive measure insisted on by the prosecutor's office.
The suspect was chosen as a preventive measure in the form of detention for 60 days without the possibility of bail.
Following the court hearing, the motion of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office was granted in full.
As a reminder, the day before, the suspect was detained at his place of residence in Dnipro.
During a briefing on July 26, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko disclosed some details about the course and results of the investigation. He said that upon arriving in Lviv, the suspect rented three apartments.
Zinchenko had been preparing for the crime for two months. He bought the necessary clothes and accessories for conspiracy in different cities of Ukraine with delivery to Dnipro. Later, he mailed these items to Lviv.
The murder suspect was planning his escape routes, changing his clothes and gait. During the reconnaissance and preparation for the crime, he examined and studied the surrounding area of the house where Iryna Farion lived. The guy waited near her house for several hours without leaving the place.
On the day of the assassination attempt, he waited for Farion for more than 2 hours and shot her when she came downstairs with her suitcase and was waiting for a taxi.
The suspect's phone contained searches for weapons, necessary clothing, and accessories for disguise, as well as screenshots of Iryna Farion's social media pages.
Zinchenko shot from a recycled weapon and also left a farewell note in case of detection, which he did not have time to send.
