UAV attack in Kaspiysk (Dagestan)

On the morning of November 6, explosions were heard in Russian Dagestan. Russia announced the destruction of a Ukrainian UAV.

Russian media reported this, and the attack was confirmed by Dagestan Governor Sergey Melikov. The main basing point of the Russian Navy's Caspian Flotilla, which is involved in the attacks on Ukraine, was hit by drones from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry.

According to eyewitnesses, the explosions over the Caspian Sea took place at around eight in the morning local time. Russian air defense systems were operating over the city.

A little later, the governor of Dagestan announced the "destruction of the UAV."

"This morning, the air defense forces destroyed an unmanned aerial vehicle over the Caspian Sea. The circumstances of the incident are currently being investigated. The operational headquarters is working, and I am in constant contact with the responsible authorities. I want to assure you that all decisions will be made on time for the safety of the residents of the republic," he wrote.

Melikov urged Dagestan residents to "remain calm, trust only trusted sources and, most importantly, not to post photos and videos that could help the enemy."

However, the Russians did not really listen to the request: many videos appeared on the network that recorded the work of air defense, as well as the explosion, but not in the sky, but on the ground.

"Kaspiysk was initially attacked by an ultralight A-22 "Flying Fox" aircraft from the Ukrainian company "Aeropract." One drone was shot down. There were no casualties," the propagandists wrote.

Because of the attack on the city, which is located about a thousand kilometers from the front line, Makhachkala airport delayed three flights: two to Moscow and one to Perm. It later suspended operations "for an indefinite period."

No sooner had Russian officials and propagandists rejoiced at the "repulsion" of the attack than explosions were heard over the Caspian Sea again. Residents filmed UAVs in the sky, including one spotted near the seaport.

"Eyewitnesses report a second drone attack in Dagestan. Previously, it crashed in the Caspian Sea," wrote one of the propaganda outlets.

RosMedia also reported, citing local residents, that there were at least 4 UAVs in total.

According to ASTRA, the drones attempted to attack the main basing point of the Caspian Flotilla of the Russian Navy in Dagestan, as evidenced by footage from the site and eyewitnesses.

According to local residents, they saw several UAVs in the sky over the Caspian Sea, in particular, they were spotted near the basing point of the Caspian Flotilla of the Russian Navy.

"According to open data, units of coastal troops, including marines, are based at this point," the publication clarifies.

NASA satellites did not detect any fires in the area of the flotilla's base.

"The flotilla has, among other things, launched missile strikes against Ukraine, and the 177th Marine Regiment has participated in battles in Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions," ASTRA notes.

Meanwhile, a video of the arrival in the port area was posted online.

OBOZ.UA's sources in Ukraine's military intelligence confirmed the first strike on targets in the Caspian Sea during Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine.

The DIU conducted an innovative special operation and "reached" the Russian flotilla's basing point in the Caspian Sea, 1,500 kilometers from Ukraine.

"At least two objects in the city of Kaspiysk, in the Republic of Dagestan, Russia, were damaged as a result of UAV strikes. In particular, we are talking about the Tatarstan and Dagestan missile ships, and small missile ships of the 21631 project were also probably damaged," the source told OBOZ.UA.

As a reminder, on November 1, a drone attacked an oil depot in the Stavropol Territory. After the explosion, a fire broke out at the facility, and the moment of the attack was caught on video.

It was also reported that a few days before, a fire broke out at one of the largest enterprises in the electrical industry in Russia.
