Crossing the border with Hungary will be under new rules: what Ukrainian carriers need to know

Starting February 10, international bus carriers will be able to cross the border at the Chop-Záhony checkpoint at a time booked in advance in the eСherha queue.The new format is expected to help reduce queues and make international transportation more organized and predictable.

This was reported by the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development. The new type of registration, called "On Schedule," will allow buses to avoid long waits, which will significantly improve the border crossing process.

How the system will work

• registration in the queue started on February 7 at 12:00;
• the new registration will start on February 10 at 12:00;
• registration in the slotted queue is mandatory for all international passenger carriers, both regular and irregular routes.

Slot allocation for carriers

• scheduled flights - book time slots in accordance with the official route permit;
• non-scheduled flights - can choose slots that are free or have not been used by carriers of scheduled routes.

Carriers that operate scheduled flights should check the availability of all permits in their account in the eСherha system. In case of absence of a permit, they should contact the support service. As of today, the eСherha system covers 23 out of 28 international border crossing points, including:

• all border crossings with Romania and Slovakia;
• 10 checkpoints with Moldova;
• 4 - with Poland.

• less time in the queue - carriers can count on the exact time of border crossing;
• predictability of routes - carriers can plan the logistics of flights in advance;
• transparent control - government agencies will receive a clear system of transportation monitoring. 

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, to cross the border with Moldova by car, Ukrainians need to have a valid vehicle inspection certificate. Without it, you will not be able to enter the country.
