Cheap Ukrainian car of the new generation shown in rare photos

ZAZ models used to be the most popular cheap cars in Ukraine. Economical, reliable and inexpensive to maintain. This is all a thing of the past, but rare photos on the Internet showed a car that was supposed to be a new generation model.

The ZAZ car was described on the AC Garage News page. The photo shows a prototype of the ZAZ 1102 of 1978. This could have been the new ZAZ Tavria, which eventually received a modified appearance and went into production later.

In the USSR, the car's predecessor was the ZAZ-968 Zaporozhets. Therefore, the gap in stylistic and design solutions was huge. The prototype differs from the production Tavria primarily in its front end. Although it's not so noticeable, the glazing and many other elements are actually different.

As a result, the famous Ukrainian budget car turned out to be different. It should be noted that the family of ZAZ Tavria models included very unusual specimens. Many of them remained unknown to the general public.

The lineup included an electric version for the German market. And for France, the compact car received a more modern design and improved interior trim. There was also an unusual convertible - ZAZ-11025 Lando. This car had a roof that could be lowered over the rear of the body.
