In Europe, demand for new cars has grown strongly. At the same time, the top ten most popular models ranked by experts include mostly cheap ones.
The list of the most popular new cars is published by Ukravtoprom with reference to the Jato Dynamics rating agency. They note that in the first six months (from January to June) of 2023, the European market sold more than 6.5 million passenger cars.
The most popular cars in Europe in 2023:
- Tesla Model Y - 126,565 units (+204% year-on-year);
- Dacia Sandero - 123,408 units (+27%);
- Volkswagen T-Roc - 111692 units (+29%);
- Peugeot 208 - 105699 units (-4%);
- Opel Corsa - 105637 units (+19%);
- Renault Clio - 100298 units (+44%);
- Toyota Yaris Cross - 96214 units (+48%);
- Fiat 500 - 90464 units (+6%);
- Volkswagen Golf - 88425 units (+6%);
- Dacia Duster - 86872 units (+18%).
Interestingly, the Tesla Model Y came out on top with a small margin. Other models on the list are quite affordable.
