ChatGPT is down: netizens around the world report large-scale problems with the assistant
On the evening of December 26, ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence-based chatbot, went down worldwide. The bot stopped responding to requests and loading pages.
This is evidenced by the data from the Downdetector failure tracking service. Problems with ChatGPT were reported all over the world.
The failure was confirmed by OpenAI too. They noted that ChatGPT and Sora, an AI video generation service, were working "with high error rates." Later, they clarified that "the problem is caused by a upstream provider" and is being resolved.
Users from the US, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, and Finland have complained about problems with access to ChatGPT. Over the evening, the service had recorded more than 14 thousand complaints.
