The match took place at the legendary Wembley Stadium

Real Madrid defeated Borussia Dortmund to win the Champions League for the 15th time, a historic record for the tournament. The match at Wembley Stadium in London ended with a score of 2-0.

The match started at a leisurely pace. Both teams did not force the situation, slowly rolling the ball in the central circle, trying to organize a positional attack. Real Madrid played first, while the German team's actions showed some nervousness.

In the 21st minute, Karim Adeyemi, after a brilliant pass from Mats Hummels, went one-on-one with Thibaut Courtois but released the ball too far, after which he was covered by Real Madrid defenders.

"Borussia opened up Real Madrid's high defense with passes, each time creating danger at the Belgian goalkeeper's goal. In the 23rd minute, Niclas Fullkrug shot past Courtois but the ball only rattled the right post.

The German players didn't look like an underdog at all, resisting the 14-time Champions League winner with dignity. Real Madrid's defenders were not ready for the quick transitions from defense to defense, where Borussia's forwards were on the verge of being offside.

In turn, Ancelotti's men did nothing dangerous near Kobel's penalty area. At the end of the first half, the statistics on shots on goal were 8-2 in favor of the Germans and 0 shots on target for Real Madrid (2 for Borussia).

The second half began with Real Madrid's attacks. In the 49th minute, Toni Kroos could have opened the scoring with a free kick, but the Swiss goalkeeper pulled his shot into the upper left corner.

The match resembled a seesaw, where both teams had good chances to open the scoring. Both goalkeepers played flawlessly.

The denouement came in the 74th minute. Toni Kroos sent the ball in the sixth corner, after which Dani Carvajal made a flawless head shot and sent the round ball into the net.

In the 83rd minute, Vinicius Junior put an end to all questions about the winner.

Thus, Borussia loses the Champions League final again after 11 years at Wembley. Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti is the only coach to have won the trophy 5 times.

It should be noted that Andrii Lunin did not take part in this match. The Ukrainian goalkeeper of Real Madrid fell ill with the flu the day before and missed all the preparations. Thus, he was not included in the application.
