Albina PanchenkoNews

Imagine traveling to picturesque corners of the country, enjoying the beauty of nature, meeting interesting people and discovering new places and all that without spending a lot of money. This is not a joke! After all, there are ways. To know where to have a budget but no less exciting vacation in Ukraine, read on.

Ternopil

Located on the banks of the Seret River. It is considered one of the main centers of the historical and geographical region of Galicia. The city was founded by the military leader of the Kingdom of Poland Jan-Amor Tarnowski.

First, we advise you to take a walk along the embankment of the Ternopil Pond. There are pedestrian areas and paths for cyclists. The artificial reservoir is about 300 hectares. It once served as an additional defense against Turkish-Tatar attacks.

Next, go to the local castle. The fortification was built from 1540 to 1548 to protect the southeastern borders. To this day, only a palace remains on the site of the fortress.

You can find picturesque places to take photos on the Love Island. The attraction was created after World War II by adding soil. You can get here by a special bridge.

And, of course, visit the Topilche Hydropark. Here tourists can get to the town of the Cossack era. Stone towers and walls were built on its territory.

Kolomyia

Kolomyia is located on the banks of the Prut River in the southeastern part of Ivano-Frankivsk region. Since the mid-13th century, the city has served as a salt mining center. And from 1600 to 1800, opryshky units operated here.

Start your trip with the world's only museum of Easter eggs (Pysanka Museum). It was opened in 1987 in the premises of the Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Later, a new building was opened, with a structure in the shape of a large painted egg. Today, the museum houses more than 12,000 exhibits from different regions of Ukraine.

Then go to the city hall. It was built in 1877 as a building for the Kolomyia magistrate. Once there was a prison here, where Ivan Franko was arrested by the Austrian authorities for several days.

In order not to return from your trip empty-handed, we recommend going to the embroidery market. Here you can buy shirts, skirts, spare parts, wreaths, and towels. By the way, most of the elements of folk costumes are sold by the craftswomen themselves.

Mukachevo

It is located in the Zakarpattia region. It is said that the name of the city comes from the Old Slavic word "muka" - flour. This is because there used to be a water mill on the river.

Go to the palace of the princes of the Transylvanian Rákóczi family. Construction of the building began in 1667. At first, it served as a city residence, and then as a place for ceremonial receptions of the nobility and foreign ambassadors. Prominent visitors to the building included Emperor Joseph II, Archdukes Maximilian and Albrecht, and the artist Munkácsy Mihály.

Then visit the Palanok Castle. It was built on a mountain of volcanic origin. The actual date of the foundation of the fortress is unknown, but it was described in documents of the XI century. The attraction had deep underground shelters hollowed out right in the rock, which served as a shelter for the local population in case of danger. Today it is a historical museum with about 8,000 exhibits.

We advise you to plan your trip for spring, as hundreds of sakura trees begin to bloom in Mukachevo in late April and early May.

Uman

The city is located on the Dnipro Upland in Cherkasy region. It is said that the name of the city comes from the name of the river Umanka.

Start your walk at the Sofiyivka Dendrological Park. The natural center was founded by tycoon Stanisław Szczęsny Potocki in 1796. About 3,300 trees and shrubs grow here. Also, 6 artificial pools and ponds were built on the territory and alleys were arranged. Today, the attraction is included in the list of 7 Wonders of Ukraine.

We recommend walking along the painted fence. It is decorated with artistic paintings by 70 Uman artists. Tourists will see different works: from abstract compositions to interesting portraits.

We also recommend a trip to the Buky Canyon, which is located about 40-50 kilometers from Uman. The age of the granites in which the center was formed is about 2 billion years. Above it is the Vyr waterfall, next to which are the ruins of a nineteenth-century water mill.

Chernivtsi

The city is located in southwestern Ukraine, 40 kilometers from the state border with Romania.

Start your trip at the Residence of Bukovinian and Dalmatian Metropolitans. The complex was built in 1864-1882 as an example of eclecticism. Its architect was the Czech Republic's biggest philanthropist Josef Hlávka. We recommend visiting the Marble, Red, Blue and Green halls. The first one is made of white and black stone. Its interior is characterized by side colonnades and arcades. The walls of the second are decorated with Chinese silk, the third served as the metropolitan's library, and the fourth was his office.

Next, take a stroll through the Theater Square. Two centuries ago, a dense forest grew in this area. Later, military warehouses were located here, and then a fish market. Today, the Olha Kobylianska Chernivtsi Drama Theatre operates here.

And, of course, go to the local history museum, which houses ancient icons, a collection of weapons, works of fine and decorative arts, and more.
