The City Hall of London has offered car owners to donate their cars to Ukraine instead of scrapping them. Starting from March 15, vehicles registered in the UK that do not meet the emission standards of the London Ultra Low Emission Zone can be donated as humanitarian aid for our country.

This is stated in the article by The Guardian. "Car owners will be able to donate vehicles in exchange for a payment of up to £2,000, which is available to drivers who scrap their vehicles and can be donated to humanitarian aid for Ukraine," said London Mayor Sadiq Khan.

Earlier, Transport Minister Mark Harper said that the government sees no legal obstacles to allow the transfer to Ukraine of vehicles that are subject to disposal due to non-compliance with environmental standards. The London Ambulance Service also plans to join these efforts by transferring 50 decommissioned ambulances to Ukraine.

Earlier, Ukraine and the European Union (EU) signed an agreement to start disbursements under the record-breaking Ukraine Facility assistance program in March 2024. By the end of the month, Ukraine's accounts will receive €4.5 billion. This tranche will essentially contain three "money transfers" at once – €1.5 billion for each month from the beginning of 2024 (January, February, and March).
