Boxing legend Lennox Lewis spoke out against Usyk

Legendary British heavyweight Lennox Lewis disagreed that Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) is the best boxer in 2024. The former absolute world champion noted that his compatriot Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) deserves this title more.

Lewis expressed this opinion in a commentary to the Seconds Out YouTube channel on the sidelines of The Ring magazine's award ceremony. Usyk was named the best fighter last year, but the boxing legend recalled Dubois' impressive victory over Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs).

"The best boxer of 2024? Oh, that's easy – Daniel Dubois! Daniel is from the lion's den. He threw an incredible punch that no one expected. But the punch hit the target, and it was incredible," Lewis said.

It should be noted that Usyk made a splash at The Ring ceremony, winning three awards in 2024. In particular, Oleksandr was named the best boxer. After the show, the Ukrainian left a message for the public in which he recalled the events in our country. Usyk also met with Joshua.

Usyk also puzzled journalists with his appearance.
