Apple could unveil iPhone SE 4 next week: what to expect
Apple may present a new model of its budget smartphone iPhone SE 4 next week. According to the well-known analyst Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, the device will be launched in mid-February, but the company does not plan to hold a special event for this product.
Instead, Apple announces the new product through a press release. Rumors around the new model are already being actively discussed online, and many expect significant changes in design and functionality, MacRumors writes.
One of the main changes will be the updated design of the iPhone SE 4, which will be similar to the style of the iPhone 14. Apple is going to get rid of thick bezels and the Touch ID Home button, which will mean farewell to this technology in the company's smartphone lineup. This makes the new iPhone SE even more similar to Apple's flagship models, allowing customers to get a stylish device at a more affordable price.
Another important innovation will be the switch to Apple's own modem chip. This will be the first iPhone to receive this chip, which is designed to reduce Apple's dependence on Qualcomm, which has so far supplied modems for the company's smartphones. Although the new modem will not be as advanced as Qualcomm's modems, this move is important for the company's further technology development.
The iPhone SE 4 will also have new features, including an A18 chip, 8GB of RAM, and support for Apple Intelligence. In addition, the new device will have a USB-C port, which will allow it to be sold again in Europe, where smartphones with Lightning ports can no longer be sold due to new regulations. The iPhone SE 4 is also expected to feature a 48-megapixel single-lens camera.
As for the price, Apple is likely to increase it compared to the current iPhone SE model. However, analysts predict that the new product will cost less than $500 (almost 21 thousand hryvnias), which will make it competitive with other budget smartphones from Samsung and Google. This will allow the company to maintain its position in the low-cost smartphone market.
Gurman also notes that the presentation of the iPhone SE 4 may coincide with the announcement of new PowerBeats Pro 2 headphones, which Apple plans to release on February 11. If the rumors are true, next week could be important for everyone who is waiting for new products from Apple.
