Alfa Romeo presented the 33 Stradale supercar
The Italian company Alfa Romeo has presented the 33 Stradale supercar, based on the 1967 model of the same name. A total of 33 exclusive coupes are planned to be produced.
This was reported by the manufacturer's press service. The project involved specialists from the famous Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera body shop, which will produce all copies of the new car.
In 1967, Alfa Romeo presented the 33 Stradale sports car, which is considered one of the most beautiful cars in the world. It was based on the Tipo 33 racing model. Half a century later, the company decided to revive the legendary coupe, but in a modern form and using technical components and materials of the present.
The car is powered by a gasoline 3-liter V6 with two turbines, which develops 620 hp. As an alternative, an all-electric version with three electric motors with a total capacity of 750 hp is offered. The top speed of the modern Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale reaches 333 km/h, and acceleration to the first hundred takes less than 3 seconds. The electric version has a range of up to 450 km.
The car has a double wishbone suspension with active shock absorbers at the front and rear, and a braking system with carbon-ceramic discs controlled by wires, created in cooperation with Brembo.
The structure is based on a spatial aluminum frame and carbon monocoque, and the doors are designed in the form of butterfly wings. The roof and glass frames are made of carbon fiber, and the rear window is made of polycarbonate. Valtteri Bottas, a driver of the factory F1 team, took an active part in testing and tuning the car.
Each of the 33 copies of the supercar will be handcrafted to the customer's individual order. The estimated cost is 2.9 million euros.
