"Action" in Krasnodar: Russians report explosions and strikes. Photos and videos

On the night of February 17, explosions were heard in the Russian Krasnodar Territory, in particular in the cities of Krasnodar, Slavyansk-on-Kuban, Novorossiysk, Tuapse, Gelendzhik, Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Taman. Previously, the region was visited by "unknown" drones.

On social media, residents complained about the attack and the alleged arrivals. One resident of Krasnodar's Slavyansky district recorded a video and lamented that it was "the first time this has happened."

Local publics wrote that the explosions were somewhere in the vicinity of the "Ilsky" Oil Refinery, but there is no exact information yet. The Ilsky Oil Refinery named after A. Shamar is located in the urban-type settlement of Ilsky, Seversky District, 50 kilometers from Krasnodar.

There have also been reports of a fire near the plant, allegedly caused by the wreckage of a downed drone.

Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, responded to the explosions in Krasnodar Krai, noting that the plant's capacity is about 6.6 million tons of oil per year.

"The Ilsky oil refinery in Krasnodar Krai, one of the key refineries in the south of Russia, was attacked. The plant specializes in the production of fuel, fuel oil, bitumen, gas oil, and other petroleum products. Its importance for the Russian army is to provide fuel for military equipment, especially in the southern region and in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine," the statement said.

In turn, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andrii Yermak, noted that the Russians will face retribution for the terror of the civilian population of Ukraine.

"Russia continues to strike the refinery. There will be a reckoning for the terror of Ukrainians," he wrote.

As OBOZ.UA previously wrote, on the night of February 15, Russia also reported drone attacks in several regions. It was noisy in Rostov-on-Don, Novomoskovsk, Tula region, and Engels, Saratov region. In Volgograd, an oil refinery was targeted, and in the Kaluga region, an "industrial facility" caught fire as a result of the attack.
