A series of explosions occurred in Taganrog: authorities claimed an attack by UAVs and missiles. Video

On the night of Wednesday, December 11, a series of explosions occurred in the Russian city of Taganrog, Rostov region, in the area of the Beriev Taganrog Aviation Scientific and Technical Complex. Local authorities reported a UAV attack and missile strikes.

"Attention! UAV attack. If possible, go down to the lower floors, to the basement. Find a place without windows, sit on the floor," wrote the head of the city Svetlana Kambulova. Frightened Russians posted footage of loud explosions in the city.

Citizens of the aggressor country complained that sirens were turned on only after the explosions, and some shelters were closed.

"Debris fell in the military town," they wrote online.

Later, the interim governor of Rostov Region, Yuri Slyusar, said that Taganrog had been hit by a missile attack.

"An industrial enterprise was damaged, and 14 cars in the parking lot burned down. According to preliminary data, no one was injured. The extent of the damage is being clarified," he wrote.

Meanwhile, the Russian Telegram channel VCHK-OGPU, citing eyewitness accounts, reported that a large number of fire trucks and military equipment headed to the Beriev Aviation Scientific and Technical Complex in Taganrog. It produces helicopters, airplanes, and "other aircraft." The enterprise, according to the Russian media, "takes a serious place in the fulfillment of state defense orders for a number of items." The plant was already hit in March this year.

It is worth noting that the Russian monitoring publics also reported on the missile threat, namely the threat of ballistic missiles, before the UAV attack on Taganrog.
