A number of products will rise in price in Ukraine due to the blockade of the border by the Poles: what will increase in prices

Prices for some food products may rise in Ukraine due to the blockade of the border by Polish carriers. We are talking about products that are not traditional for production in our country, such as fruits and vegetables. The cost of fish and seafood may also increase.

Denys Marchuk, Deputy Chairman of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council, said this during the telethon. "Basically, we are talking about food products that are not traditional for production in Ukraine. This is partly fruit and partly vegetables, because we have a seasonality factor - vegetable growing is over, and we are mostly starting to sell what is in storage systems, greenhouse vegetables, and also in winter we receive a lot of vegetables (from abroad - Ed.)," he said.

Prices for seafood, red fish and caviar may also increase. But if you look at the overall supply on store shelves, more than 80% of the products are produced directly in Ukraine, Marchuk added.

"Therefore, we cannot say that there will be any severe shortage or a certain deficit - this will not happen. Moreover, we understand that as the blockade has intensified, we have begun to pay more attention to what could be produced and sold in Ukraine, so as not to become dependent on the situation at the borders," added the deputy head of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, prices for a dozen chicken eggs in supermarkets in Ukraine have risen as of early December. The price of Kvochka eggs increased from UAH 54.64 to UAH 56.99.
