Best way to clean the entire oven: a selection of life hacks
The oven should be cleaned regularly, otherwise burnt grease, dirt and food residues will dry out under the influence of high temperatures and become difficult to clean. Aggressive chemicals can damage the surface, and conventional cleaning gels don't always cope with tough dirt.
Ian Palmer-Smith, an appliance expert at Domestic and General, shared what he believes to be the best way to clean an oven. The details were provided by the Express.
Cleaning an oven is a very time-consuming task. The expert suggests four simple steps that will not only make the surfaces shiny and shiny, but also help to avoid the need to repair the appliance.
Step 1
Remove the oven racks. Ian advises soaking them overnight in dishwashing liquid and removing any grease with a cloth in the morning.
You can also try a rather interesting method using baking foil and dishwasher tablets. Wrap the grids in foil and place this "envelope" in a bathtub or a large container of water with the seam facing up. Next, place a dishwasher tablet at the seam and pour boiling water over the entire envelope. The water should cover the grill. Leave the envelope to soak overnight and rinse the grids under running water in the morning.
Step 2
Remove any burnt food. Wipe down all surfaces before actually cleaning. Then apply the cleaning agent. A 1:1 mixture of baking soda and white vinegar works best.
Top tip: Use a scraper for large pieces of food. Make sure that the cleaning agent does not get on the heating element of the oven.
Step 3
Clean the inside of the door. When choosing a glass door cleaner, make sure it is not abrasive or too strong. Avoid excessive friction as this can lead to cracks. Spray the inside of the door with the chosen cleaner, leave it on for approximately 20 minutes and wipe off the residue with a damp cloth.
Alternatively, you can use white and apple cider vinegar. Acids will dissolve mineral deposits, dirt and grease. In addition, vinegar is effective enough to kill some bacteria.
Step 4
Clean the outside of the door. The expert recommends using a glass cleaner. Wipe the surface with a damp cloth in a circular motion until all dirt is removed, and then polish the glass with a clean, dry cloth to remove streaks.
