Why coffee grounds should not be flushed down the sink and toilet: where to use them

Usually, people are in a hurry to go about their business in the morning, so they often pour coffee grounds into the sink and quickly wash the cup to save time. But this daily ritual can lead to negative consequences for your sink.

Coffee grounds clog and damage pipes, they gradually settle on the walls, so clots form that stick to the pipe inside and over time this can lead to clogging. You need to regularly clean the pipes by pouring in a special chemical or making a solution yourself.

But if this does not help, then you need to call a plumber. To avoid this, it is better to throw the mixture in the trash or use it for other purposes, because coffee grounds have many useful properties and will be useful both in cleaning and skin care.

A natural deodorant

Coffee grounds have a rich aroma, so they can easily eliminate unpleasant odors in the refrigerator. Pour the mixture into a glass jar and place it on one of the shelves, and you won't feel any pungent odors the next day.

You can also wipe your hands with the mixture to eliminate unpleasant odors, such as onions or garlic.

Air freshener

Add the powder to a vase of dried flowers and the house will be filled with a pleasant aroma. This method can be used in the bathroom or kitchen.

This mask strengthens hair roots and promotes hair growth. Wet your scalp, apply coffee grounds and massage gently, then leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes and shampoo your hair.

Scratches on furniture

Coffee grounds can even mask scratches on dark furniture. Prepare a rich coffee solution, wait until it cools down. Then, dampen a cotton ball and wipe the necessary areas.

Flea repellent

The mixture will help fight fleas in dogs. The rich aroma will scare away the pests. To do this, rub the mixture into the pet's wet hair after washing.
